Al Lewis

Al is founder and President of the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International, Inc.  His critically acclaimed, category-bestselling book on outcomes measurement, Why Nobody Believes the Numbers, exposing the hilarious innumeracy of the health management field, which Al dedicated to his fifth-grade math teacher “for doing a better job than the other kids’ fifth-grade math teachers,”  was named 2012 healthcare book of the year in Forbes.  The difference between his outcomes numbers and vendors’ outcomes numbers is that he prefers to show only outcomes numbers that can be achieved right here on this very planet.  His new radio program, The Big Fix, exploring novel economic policy ideas, is carried on the NPR-affiliate in Washington, DC.
