The 2019 Mercer National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans is the largest of its kind. Our speakers will share the latest insights that were gleaned from the survey and provide a roadmap to build a future-ready benefits strategy for a healthier and happier workforce. Survey findings are based on responses from more than 2,500 employers of all sizes and industries. Special focus will be given on strategies to combat the challenge of balancing cost and affordability, seize the power of networks, reimagine the patient experience, and optimize program design and administration.

Speaker: Kirk Czonstka, GBA | Office Business Leader | Mercer | Portland, OR

Kirk is responsible for client management, business development, operational management and people development. He joined Mercer’s Portland office in July 2018 after spending 12 years in Mercer’s Philadelphia office. Prior to this role, Kirk served in a variety of roles that included business development across Mercer’s health, wealth and career lines of business, managing and evolving Mercer’s national private exchange product offering, partnering with senior US insurance carrier leadership, and providing health and welfare program consulting to large and jumbo employers. He is an active member of the Pacific Northwest ISCEBS Chapter and serves on their Board of Directors.

Speaker: Nick Albert, FSA, MAAA | Senior Associate | Mercer | Portland, OR

Nick serves as a consultant and lead actuary for his clients based throughout the Pacific Northwest in Mercer’s Health & Benefits practice. He is responsible for building effective client relationships, managing the internal workflow and team structure, working with outside vendor partners, and business development. Nick spent over six years in Mercer’s Seattle office before joining Mercer’s Portland office in April 2019 and has worked in a variety of roles and client teams throughout his time at Mercer. His clients range in size from 200 to over 50,000 covered lives. Nick has experience and expertise in developing strategies for all types of clients, including commercial and government agencies. He is a member of various actuarial and financial organizations in the Portland area.
