Investment Committee Best Practices

The event will be held at Moss Adams. Wine, beer, and appetizers from 5:00 PM-5:30 PM and the speaker will be from 5:30 PM-6:30 PM.

RVK recently produced a comprehensive study, entitled “Investment Committee Best Practices.” The study is based on interviews with nearly 40 investment committee chairs and members. In the study, they have identified the critical shared challenges faced by committees, and then profile a variety of best practices that committees can use to address these challenges.

Professional accreditation credits include: AIF, ASPPA, CFP CE, CPE for CPAs, CEBS, ERPA, CLE Oregon State Bar, SHRM.

About Our Presenter

Mark Higgins, CFA, Consultant & Principal, RVK, Inc.
Mark joined RVK in 2009 as an Associate Consultant, was promoted to Consultant in 2012, and made a Principal of the firm in 2016. Mark also serves as the Chairperson of RVK’s Editorial Board, where he oversees the production of Investment Perspectives publication and RVK’s strategy studies, such as Investment Committee Best Practices.
Prior to joining RVK, Mark served as a Consultant for Portfolio Logic, a Washington, DC-based private equity fund run by Jeffrey Zients, former CEO of the Advisory Board Company and former Chief Economic Advisor to President Barack Obama. Mark also co-founded Career Next Step and served as the company’s CEO. Prior to attending business school, Mark served in management positions at Symantec Corporation and the Advisory Board Company, where he led a variety of strategic and quantitative research studies. Mark currently works primarily with endowments, foundations, and pension plans ranging in size from approximately $15 million to several billion in assets. Mark graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Mark holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Portland. Mark is a shareholder of the firm.
